“In the past, when a client gave us a PDF print stream, we could not vary the print image,” adds Paul Shi, Operations Manager. “Now we have the ability to modify the PDF’s to do things like address correction, postal sortation for discounts, adding automation barcodes, graphics or marketing messages, then repaginating and finally, re-outputting the PDF print file. The final step is to create compact individual PDF’s of the documents which are uploaded to the client’s website for web presentment.”

“Our first deployment was a trust company mailing 60,000 client statements,” adds Taschuk. “We were able to take the client’s original PDF print stream and extract all the relevant data. We then performed address correction and postal sortation, added OMR sort marks and uploaded individual client PDF’s. Obviously, accuracy and integrity were critical, and Compart performed flawlessly. The client realized huge savings.”

Background
Many clients control the creation of their transactional documents in house, and only release a completed PDF stream. The Compart tool accepts that output and allows complete manipulation as if the documents were being created by Kirk. Clients benefit by reducing their overall costs through postal discounts.
